Naturally derived and environmentally friendly, Citroxx™ has been developed and researched over a number of years and has been approved to decontaminate fresh produce (used by suppliers to many of the world's leading supermarkets), in animal feed to control the onset of various pathogens such as Newcastle's Disease (a virulent Avian virus), and in medical disinfection to kill organisms such as MRSA, C. diff, VRE, Norovirus E Coli, VRE, Human Rhinovirus and many more. Recently, Citroxx was found to be highly effective (ie killing over 99.998%) against H5N1 virus and SARS.

Citroxx Bio™ is a natural biocide containing flavinoids extracted from the bitter pith of certain oranges to which specific fruit acids are added to enhance greatly the biocide activity of the bioflavinoids. It has been known for some time that bioflavinoids have antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Research has focussed on the antibacterial and antiviral activity of specific bioflavinoids such as quercitin, helperidin, naringin and poncirin. It is believed that the antibacterial and antiviral activity of these bioflavinoids is due to their ability to interfere with the uptake of nutrients such as amino acids by the cytoplasmic membrane of microbes.
