At Cap Air Systems, quality isn’t a department. It’s how we manufacture. From cable assemblies and wiring harnesses to box builds and through-hole PCB assemblies, we deliver precision, consistency and tidy workmanship for customers who can’t afford to get it wrong. We’re based in Cambridgeshire and proud to support innovators across the UK with advanced electronics manufacturing that’s fast, flexible and human.
Every job starts with clarity. We review drawings and BOMs, agree the build approach, and create simple work instructions so what’s approved is exactly what’s made. Production runs in a clean, ESD-controlled environment using calibrated tooling, with neat routing, protection and labelling as standard. We keep changes under control and communicate quickly - no surprises, just disciplined, professional builds.
Workmanship follows IPC best practice (e.g. IPC-A-620 / IPC-A-610 principles). Assemblies are visually inspected for joint quality, crimp integrity, strain relief and finish, with continuity or functional checks where specified. For new or revised products we’ll agree a first-off/sample so you can sign off what “good” looks like before we scale.
Quality starts long before the bench. We use approved suppliers for cable, connectors and consumables, and substitute parts only with written customer approval. Our approach to sustainability is practical: build once, build well, and waste less. We’re committed to ethical sourcing, fair treatment of people in our supply chain, and responsible packaging and disposal - because good manufacturing should leave things better than it found them.
Great builds come from skilled people. Our team is trained in ESD control and IPC best practice, and we peer-review complex operations to keep standards high. We’re big on learning: short feedback loops, honest conversations, and continuous improvement so the second run is better than the first, and the tenth better again.
If you work in medical, safety & security, defence or other high-integrity environments, you’ll find our mindset familiar: clean builds, controlled change and clear communication. We balance speed with care, and we’ll flag anything that doesn’t look right - because protecting your reputation is part of our job.
